Kreoss3 Complete!

Hey There, 

Just finished off the Intercessor!  I had a brief panic with Vallejo Air Matte varnish: intense clouding.  Fixed it using Liquitex Matte Varnish and some windex through the airbrush.  It's the first time I've had an issue with it, not sure why the clouding is just starting.  

Now it's time to start on a Crusader!

Kreoss3 - Horse

So, between being sick for a week and the Christmas, my productivity had plummeted. 

This morning I was able to get most of Kreoss3's horse done.  Theres a few smaller details that I'll get to once the rider is complete (eyes, menofixes on the barding, maybe one more gold highlight).  Once this dude is finished, I am going to hammer out a Crusader then start work on the Vessel of Judgement.

Learning points from this:
1. 2 brush blending is an awesome alternative to airbrush gradients.  I need to try this out more.
2.  I have troubles using the aforementioned technique with metallics.  Either I need to practice more, or stick to airbrushed metallics.
3.  I really prefer using oil washes and pigments for shading than washes.  
4.  I don't use drybrushing often and found that using this technique on the gold trim made gold flakes stick to the rest of the mini.

This is the second collosal that I've painted and I love the quality that Privateer Press is putting out in these kits.  I am looking forward to doing my own Hyperion, Archangels and Mammoth in future 2013 projects.

Hey Folks, 

Bit of a pre-amble sorting my thoughts. When I start collecting armies for other game systems, I lay out a specific list that I want to play and build to that list. However, for whatever reason I haven't been able to focus myself like that for Privateer Press games. For example. my Legion force has swelled into an eclectic collection of mini's that I slap together into a coherent force. I like to be more organized than this, so I am going to start off the new year with faction specific projects for two 50 point army lists. Here`s the lists! Follow along for the fun! (and I know I am getting a head start on the first project :P)

Better Shot of the Warpwolf

Hey, 

Some folks over at the Privateer Press Forums wanted a better shot of the Warpwolf.  Here we go!:

Almost done a DnD mini commission.  He should be finished and posted later tonight.

Also building a few awesome 50 point lists to build in the new year.  Machinations are turning!!!
